Ensure Comfort with Your CPAP Supplies

You might not be as comfortable as possible if you have improperly sized or styled CPAP equipment. CPAP machines are designed to provide the user with continuous positive airway pressure and used to keep the upper airway splinted open during sleep so as to alleviate sleep apnea symptoms. Proper air pressure levels cannot be established without correctly fitting CPAP masks or sleep apnea masks. Material composition of the CPAP masks can also assist in the proper fit of such equipment as well. For example, gel GPAP masks typically conform more to the face of the wearer.
Most CPAP masks are triangular in shape and are placed over the nose of the wearer. These are referred to as nose masks. However, other options include nasal pillows and full face masks. These CPAP masks come in different sizes, much like clothing. If you need a medium mask instead of a small mask, it is important that you then order the properly sized mask.
Not only can the mask be uncomfortable, if it doesn’t fit right it may also leak excessively. This can actually negate the majority of the work that CPAP equipment is designed to complete. In addition to not providing your upper airway with the air pressure it needs, excessive leaks can actually go on to irritate the eyes of the wearer.
