My Man’s Bedroom Vanity

Who says only women are vain?

Men are vain too but they are just not so showy about it.  Well my husband may not be vain; maybe he just has a taste.

I am not complaining.  In fact, I love the way my husband is being very picky especially in terms of things we bring inside our house.  Our kitchen wares are mostly the expensive type and we have several sets of fine china that he personally picked.  He believes in getting quality and beauty over price.

My husband has always told me that we should invest in top bedroom things because in a person’s life time, a lot of his time is spent in bed.  How very true.

Our bedding set is bought only from reputable stores.  Pillows, blankets and comforters were carefully scrutinized before being bought.  We made sure they are soft and comfortable and their colors match the general color of the bedroom.

I had to consult my husband in our choice of mirror, nightstand, dressers and other bedroom furniture.  He even has his own Zurich valet.

But then again, I am beginning to realize that maybe he is not vain after all.  I guess he is just practical.  Comfort and quality cannot be sacrificed.  A good night’s sleep gives a good day and a good day strengthens a relationship.

Tattoo Photography Project

It’s that time of the semester again! The professor in my Photography course just handed out our final assignments for the term. The assignment is actually pretty open to interpretation. He wants us to do a photo series on something that represents who we are deep down. Examine our interests, our likes, and our dislikes. Should be pretty fun.

I’m thinking I want to do something involving tattoos. Tattoos are an important part of me and the culture I grew up in. I just want to do some great photographs that focus on the beauty and significance of the tattoos. I want people to see the pictures of ankle tattoos, Jesus tattoos, and even rose tattoos in a way that they’ve never seen them before. Something that forces them to dig deeper… to look beneath the surface.

I guess the first thing I need to do is talk to some friends to see if they’re up for being photographed. I also have to figure out how I’m going to capture the significance of each piece. The project should tell a story. It’s definitely going to be a little tricky, but I have a couple of months to work on it. I’m sure I’ll be able to tie it all together.
