People working in certain careers often choose to get their insurance as a member of a group of other people in that same career. For example, a doctor who wants to get disability insurance may choose to do so with a group of other doctors. It is important to realize that there are significant drawbacks to getting disability insurance (and many other types of insurance) with a group.
In the case of disability insurance for physician groups, the biggest problem is that the doctor’s own job won’t necessarily be covered. An imaging specialist who starts having eyesight problems may not be specifically covered under the plan whereas he would if he had gotten own occupation disability insurance on his own instead of going with the group. Likewise, a dentist may not be specifically covered like he would if he got dentist disability insurance.
It should also be noted that group insurance tends to have fewer benefits and tends to be more restrictive. Partial disabilities may not be covered. Specific types of disabilities may not be covered. You may not be covered if you switch jobs and you certainly won’t be covered if you switch employers. The benefits of getting group insurance (specifically the lower cost) may not outweigh the drawbacks for people in certain careers (such as doctors). Think about this carefully when choosing any type of insurance with a group.

Do you have a stack of promotional bags in the corner of your closet that are going unused? Your office might have given these to you as an inexpensive Christmas gift year after year. You don’t use them because you don’t particularly like them. Plus you feel a little strange being the only person in the office who totes their promotional backpack along with them. But maybe you should start thinking more about using these promotional items to bring some business your way. And you don’t even have to take them to the office with you to do it.
Unlike promotional desk items, logo-embossed bags can be taken out into the general public where they serve a purpose other than promotion. If you have a corporate duffel bag, it can go to the gym with you. If you have a laptop case with a logo, it can be the accessory that always goes to the coffee shop with you. Even the basic tote bag can be used for a purpose like carrying your groceries.
While these items are serving a purpose in your everyday life, they are also going to bring you business. The best way to get new clients is to get talking to them about your work. As people at the gym or the grocery store notice your promotional bag, they’re going to ask you about your business. Have a thirty-second spiel in mind for a response. Follow up with your business card and you could find that you’re on your way to a promotion. And you didn’t even have to brown-nose by bringing the company bag to work with you!

Just as it would with any other type of profession, landing a solid job in the golf industry requires a good educational background. This is why many opt for a reputable golf school to get the skills they need. This type of institution gives students a good education in everything from management to instruction but does so with a curriculum that centers on golf. Upon completing a program from an accredited institution, students can find themselves receiving an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. This degree can give a graduate the competitive edge that gets them in the door.
