Nerd by Day, Stud by Night

I am in the information technology field. It is not as dry as it sounds, but if I meet a girl at a club, the last thing she wants to hear about is the information technology security training I have had or the ethical hacker training I took. And if I tell her I am a CISSP, she’s just going to look at me like I must still live at home with my parents or something.
So I do exactly what most guys in my shoes would do: I lie! This past weekend I was an instructor at Bob Bondurant’s race car driving school here in Phoenix Arizona. That’s right; I became the guy that takes people out onto Firebird International Raceway in a shiny yellow corvette that has been all souped up with racing suspension and a hopped up engine. I was the guy who teaches people how to really push the envelope in the corners.
I would say that is a little more exciting than telling the ladies that I am basically a computer nerd with a fancy plastic pocket protector. So far it works pretty well because I have never been caught. Maybe I should be in sales? Well, maybe not. The money in IT is really good!
