Variable Data Printing has Changed Marketing Communications

The business of marketing has changed considerably over the course of the last decade due to advances in technology. Many of these changes have come about as the result of increased importance placed on Internet marketing. Marketing for the online world is a relatively new field in marketing and one that has gotten a lot of attention by marketing educators in recent years. However, technology has also changed print marketing in many ways. One of the types of printing techniques that has emerged which has really changed marketing communications is the technique known as variable data printing.

Variable data printing refers to being able to print large quantities of marketing materials that don’t require every single detail on the material to be the same. For example, you can print a marketing letter that has most of the same information on it but which includes the personal identifying information of the intended recipient (such as a personalized URL or a name and address) without interrupting the printing process in any way. This has allowed marketing to become much more personalized even while it has become more mechanized. It’s an interesting change and one that marketing students should pay close attention to.

Sleep your way to better health

Sleeping like a baby is not just for babies!  Lucky people who have mastered the art of getting their full 8 hours of beauty sleep every night know that the difference is in the details. So, what do these experts know that we don’t?

First of all, avoid caffeine just before you go to bed.

Make sure you squeeze in at least some amount of exercise in the day time. Physical activity has been proven to lead to a good night’s sleep.

Eat right. Include bananas, warm milk and whole wheat bread, and you could find yourself sleeping more fitfully.

A lot of people think that watching TV just before you go to bed is the ideal way to unwind after a hard day. This is actually not true at all. The bright light emanating from your TV screen can create a false illusion of alertness that can affect your ability to fall asleep.

Lastly, make sure that the bed you lie on is perfectly equipped to give you a solid night’s sleep. Luxurious 400 thread count bed spreads may be the last word in fine sleeping, but what you need is comfortable bedding that supports your back and neck. Sleeping on a beautiful custom pillow that’s hard can give you a crick in the neck, waking you up and disrupting your sleep. There is nothing wrong with having grand custom bedding, but make sure it comes with an ergonomically design support system that gives you a comfortable night‘s sleep.

Everyone in your family can benefit from sleeping better, so include better designed kids bedding in your children’s room too.

Improving Your Fishing Cast

A few months ago I watched my 12 year old nephew skillfully cast his fishing line into our neighbor’s tree. After much twisting and turning of the line I was able to disentangle the line and move my nephew a bit further down the lake shore. My husband, a recreational fisherman has a beautiful cast. His cast is like a flock of birds soaring through the sky. My cast is similar to my nephews. There have been several occasions where a duck and cover drill has followed my cast.

My husband wants to go on a trout fishing trip.  A patient teacher, he’s been advising me that one of the most important parts of casting is accuracy. You don’t want your line to end up in the bush when the fish are swimming under the bush! I found out there are many resources from casting videos to chat room anglers that can help you improve your cast.

Fly fishing trips add the additional challenge of another line. But I like the fact I don’t have to deal with live bait. This year we hope to go Fly Fishing in GA. So I’ll keep practicing my cast and getting advice from fellow fisher men and women.

Seeking a St. Petersburg Wedding DJ Can Keep Things Rocking

For my wedding, I want a St. Petersburg wedding DJ that really knows how to liven up a party. The big event is a few months down the road still, but I’m getting really nervous about this particular hire! Our guest list is getting really large and everyone seems to have entirely different tastes in music.

I know from experience that a great DJ can overcome these obstacles and really make a reception a blast. To find the perfect DJ, I’ve been looking on the Internet for some advice. What I’ve found out so far has really surprised me. It seems the best DJs, St Petersburg wedding photographer candidates and even St Petersburg wedding videographer pros all have their own web sites. This is making it super easy to check out pros before I even make calls about pricing, contracts and availability.

Some wedding planning tips I came across are also helping in the organization for the big day. Still, my biggest concern beyond the actual ceremony is making sure everyone has a great time at the reception. The DJ is the key here.

I’m going to check out a few more DJ web sites before I start making some calls. I have to say the Internet has been much better for helping me narrow down a list than a phone book could ever have been!

Tips for Choosing a Great Hotel

I have spent many nights in bad hotels and that has taught me a whole lot about how to pick a great hotel. I wouldn’t want to keep that information to myself so here are some of my personal tips for when you book a vacation hotel:

  • Try to avoid chain hotels. There are some great hotel chains out there but you are going to get a more unique experience if you choose a small owner-operated motel.
  • Look for pictures online from untraditional sources. The downfall of owner-operated motels is that a lot of them are trashy. Don’t rely on pictures from the hotel’s website to make sure it’s a nice place. Search sites like Flickr and Photobucket for pictures from people who have been there.
  • Choose a hotel that suits your destination. A tropical beach hotel is great for a caribbean vacation. An all-inclusive resort is even better!
  • Read reviews online but read them with a wary eye. Be aware that people have all sorts of agendas when posting reviews of hotels online so they can be useful but you should know that they may also be biased.

Unfortunately, learning to choose a great hotel involves mostly trial and error but follow these tips and you’ll be well on your way to staying in a great place.
